Therapy

When life gets busy, it's easy to forget the importance of looking after our mental and emotional wellbeing. In a fast paced world, therapy provides us with a space to pause and reflect. There are lots of reasons someone might choose to come to therapy. Some people come with a specific difficulty which they want to explore, whilst others might be looking for a space in which to reflect on their lives more generally, to gain greater personal clarity and meaning.By encouraging you to reflect on your life from new perspectives, therapy can help you to build up a greater awareness of how and why things are as they are, and the role you play in maintaining this. Having this awareness is the first step towards introducing more agency and choice into your life, and subsequently improving your mental wellbeing.

Starting therapy

Starting therapy can feel really daunting. Just like anything new, it's hard to know what to expect.By placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of the work, I aim to create a safe, supportive and respectful environment in which clients can effectively explore and work through their challenges at their own pace.Should you choose to get in touch, I will contact you to arrange an initial 50 minute meeting. In this time we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to get from the therapeutic process. We will both have the opportunity to ask questions throughout, and to think together about the next steps. As part of this, you will be invited to reflect on how it feels for you to be in the therapeutic space together.
